Introducing Houston Memorial Chiropractor & Nutrition Diplomate :: Dr. Robert “Shane” Howell
The Preferred Houston Chiropractor
Dr. Shane Howell
Simply put, I was a skeptic, at first, about all these unique techniques that we are now utilizing.
It was the same reaction that many patients initially have about alternative health. After I saw patient after patient making dramatic improvements without the use of drugs and surgery, I knew that I was on the right path.
I was initially interested in chiropractic and natural healthcare when my awesome mother, who I practice with here, was in chiropractic college. I was sixteen at the time and everything I saw felt so spectacularly right to me – I just resonated with it on a soul level,it seems. I then determined to put everything I had into helping people become well. I truly felt, and ever increasingly feel like I have found my calling with natural drug-free healthcare. The very possibility of knowing people who are suffering becoming healthy and happy again is very exciting to me, especially when they have had very little experience of ever feeling good, especially kids. To hear someone say that they feel “GREAT!” and life is worth living and enjoying is really what it is all about for me. I am grateful that I am in a position to serve people the way I do and I have the abilities and tools that I know can help them.
I went to Texas Chiropractic College, after attending the University of Texas. I chose TCC because it was considered an exceptional chiropractic college, plus it was close to home. I found anatomy, physiology, and nutrition a challenge to me and they peaked my interest the most. The vision, innovation, and teachings of Dr. Scott Walker have inspired me as a doctor. Dr. Walker developed Neuroemotional Technique more than 20 years ago. NET is at the cutting edge of health and medicine and is one of the most powerful treatments in the world.
I believe I provide a unique blend of services that are much needed at a reasonable fee. I truly want to help as many people as I can. Patients that understand they play an active role and stay with the recommendations as laid out are the ones that tend to recover their health. I have total confidence in vitalistic healing properties where the bodies have an amazing, innate ability to heal itself and be well, especially when given the proper nutrition, maintaining a positive state-of-mind, and having proper spinal alignment and movement. It is my mission to guide and educate you on your path to health in a loving, caring, and safe environment.
Personally
I am married to a dynamic, supportive woman, Angela and we have 2 healthy and adorable daughters, Grace and Lily. Angela is a very dedicated school counselor in the Tomball area, who loves to read and play with our girls. Grace, 12, loves basketball, movies, and crafts. Lily, age 9, gets excited about music, dancing, and gymnastics. I myself, take great pleasure in goofing off with my girls, walking our dogs, working out, listening to music, and watching football (passionate about the Texans and the Longhorns). I would also consider myself a huge movie buff. 2 Rescue dogs, Sadie and Romeo, along with our cat, Tiger, roam around our house and look to cuddle with us.
My philosophy is that I don’t recommend anything that I would not do myself. Therefore, I tend to get a chiropractic adjustment once per week and get regularly checked for nutrition and NET. Remaining on a comprehensive whole food nutritional and herbal protocol is normal for me. Avoiding processed foods, starches, and sugar, and eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and healthy protein is included in my day to day diet. I do allow myself a cheat day every week to indulge on those items we all love, including hamburgers, pizza, etc. I exercise 6 days per week with a mix of bodyweight training, high-intensity interval exercise, yoga, & pilates. Focusing on enhancing ideal posture is vital to me. I try to give my wife and girls an adjustment at least once per week. Keeping them on a nutritional, herbal, and/or homeopathic protocols. This helps them stay well, especially all being in a school environment 5 days per week.
